JENNIFER HAY, MSW, LCSW
Jennifer Hay completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2017 and received her Master's in Social Work with a concentration in Adult Mental Health and Wellness in 2020 from the University of Southern California.
Currently, Jennifer works at Cognitive Behavior Associates as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. During her training, Jennifer worked alongside other mental health professionals at UCLA Internal Medicine and Safe Place for Youth (SPY). At UCLA, she worked as a clinical social work intern providing evidence-based one-on-one psychotherapy to treat pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges, including Anxiety, Depression, Crises Management, Psychological Adjustment to Chronic Medical Conditions & Acute Stressors, Post-Partum Depression, Panic Disorder, Academic & Work-Related Stress, Trauma & Grief, Relationships, and Substance Abuse. Jennifer is trained in utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive-Processing Therapy (CPT), Problem-Solving Therapy (PST), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Seeking Safety Interventions, and Mindfulness Practices. In this dynamic integrated care setting, Jennifer also participated in UC-LEND Inter/Multidisciplinary Team Meetings regarding neurological development disability patients and collaborated with primary care physicians, social workers, and medical students & residents in team development of treatment planning for families.
At Safe Place for Youth, Jennifer worked to empower homeless transitional-aged youth ages 12-25 to lead self-sufficient, stable, and safe lives through clinical case management, education of services, and advocacy for resources. During her time at SPY, Jennifer co-facilitated substance use groups with young men and women, conducted biopsychosocial analyses of members, assessing overall mental health and mental illness, suicidal ideation, substance use, homelessness, and safety. Jennifer also assisted in SPY's outreach program by recruiting and educating youth experiencing homelessness from the Venice Boardwalk and was trained in utilizing the Next Step Tool (NST) in efforts of placing youth into safe and affordable housing.
Jennifer has also been a long time staff member at CBA, co-leading a social anxiety group utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and exposures therapy.
